Currency

Our local currency is the Barbados Dollar. However, most establishments will accept the U.S. Dollar as a form of payment.

The informal conversion is BBD$2.00 - USD$1.00.

Driving in Barbados

Wear your seatbelts. Both drivers and passengers should wear their seatbelts while the vehicle is being driven.

Driving on the left. In Barbados, we drive on the left side of the road, and at roundabouts, we give way to the vehicle coming from the right.

Speed Limit. Be on the mindful of traffic signs and speed limits. The three main speed limits are below: 

80 km/hr = 50 miles/hr
60 km/hr = 37 miles/hr
40 km/hr = 20 miles/hr 

Rush Hour. Rush hour in Barbados falls between the hours of 6:30 am - 9:00 am, and on evenings, 4:00 - 6:30.
